How to choose colors for our home?

Posted by admin on April 12, 2022

When choosing a color for your home, the first thing that comes to mind is the tones that you love so much and you are right. Like this, you give yourself more freedom and a chance to express your own personality at your home interior.

And here people speak about two groups: the one who are not afraid of mistakes and prefer a variety of colors, and those who choose more modest colors.

You may love the color red, but you can rarely see it in your interior… there is one simple way to get out of this situation:

Find inspiration

In order to find the right color or to use it correctly, you must first see a lot of interiors in the colors in which you want to present your house. Observe how it fits your mood and then create a color palette.

For example, observe the colors used on the fabrics and imagine it on a larger scale, be it linens, pillows, blankets, rugs or anything else. . Observe the colors in nature and their combinations, or even which colors are used in your favorite paintings.

Take into consideration rule 60-30-10

Rule 60-30-10 will help you to create a harmonious atmosphere at home. As a rule, you use 3 colors for the house, one of them should be dominant and therefore you should use it in 60% of the house, the second color in 30%, and the third in 10%. To put it simply, 60 percent can be your wall color, 30 percent the fabric you use, and 10 percent pillows.

Match the color to your mood

Match the color to the atmosphere you want to have in a particular room. Here the psychology of color is very important.

Interior designers recommend using warm colors for the kitchen and common rooms, which also becomes a gathering place for our families. And for rooms that reflect our personal space, be it a bedroom or our cabinet they prefer us to use cool colors.

Use color white

White is an integral part of modern interiors and you probably can’t even remember the space where white color is not used in some form. Apart from the fact that the white walls emphasize the furniture or other details in your space, interior designers use the cold and warm tones of white for different purposes. In areas where there is less natural light, warm white is preferred, and where space is needed, cold white is used.

And now we will introduce you to the color combinations in the interior, which are often used today. It may become an inspiration for the home you’ve bought or are going to buy at Glint Property’s projects.
