You can give yourself complete freedom and use everything you want, be it furniture, decorative items, colors, shapes, fabrics or more. Bohemian style gives you a unique opportunity to reflect your personality in the interior. Colorful and bright colors are an integral part of this style.

It won’t be surprising if we recall the history of bohemian style – when gypsies arrived in Paris, they were thought to be from Bohemia, so their way of life or culture transformed into a bohemian style. The term also comes from the French word La Boheme and means gypsy.

The bohemian style first appeared in nineteenth-century art, but then moved easily into interior design. Therefore it is no coincidence that artists often choose this style. Despite bold decisions, you can create a very cozy and comfortable atmosphere at home.

Colors

There is no specific color scheme in the bohemian style of interior design, you can use any color you like, no matter how contrasting it is. However, interior designers recommend using warmer tones, such as yellow, green, brown, blue, orange, and even red.

To maintain a very clean look, a neutral color base is preferred for the walls, such can be white in your colorful interior.  And it is recommended to bring more intense colors using textiles or other decorative items.

Plants

It’s true that we already find plants in almost every interior design, but here it has even more meaning. With plants in the interior new colors are introduced, thus making the atmosphere more lively and free. There is not even a specific place to place the script, they can be placed in any space or level, be it the floor, window sill or pots hanging on the ceiling. Lovers of Bohemia style enjoy complete freedom while choosing the plant, placing cactuses, deciduous plants and even small trees.

Furniture

“Bohemian furniture” can be found not only in new but also in vintage shops. It also allows us to use childhood items, which, in addition to antiquity, have other important importance for us. In addition, furniture of different heights, though still lower in size is preferred. You will also meet mirror surfaces here. You can also find colorful poufs and coffee tables in the houses inspired by Bohemian style. The only thing that unites them is natural materials – mostly lighter wood and leather are used.

Decorative items

Since the history of bohemian design is related to art here the focus is on handicrafts. Old items can not only be given a new house, but also can be used with a new function, for example, turning an old basket into a chandelier. If we follow the advice of interior designers, we should take one memorable item from all places and then bring it to the interior. So the expression of human character and lifestyle also becomes easy. However, we should choose items that will easily attract attention and share a little history with the guests of our house. It may be candles, metal items, table lamps, paintings or other things.

Various fabrics and textures

You can even place carpets and tapestries on the walls, which makes the bohemian interior very different from other style houses. fabric can be used for any type or function, be it chair cushions, blankets, tablecloths or other. You will often meet the so-called macrame, which is even considered a symbol of bohemian style.

Now that you have learned all about this style, you need to find the right space and in Glint Property projects, you can easily find an ideal location for your home.
